Wife. Mom. Mermaid.

Hi! I’m Arielle Funk, your friendly lesson plan coordinator! First and foremost I’m a follower of Jesus Christ and wholly rely on Him for my strength in parenting (I seriously couldn’t do this mom thing without LOTS of daily prayer!). I’m also the wife of a wonderful and supportive husband who works incredibly hard so that I can stay home with our children and teach them. I’m also a mermaid…ok that part might be imaginary but when you work with young children, imagination is key! (but seriously, who doesn’t love a good Disney movie, right!? The Little Mermaid is definitely my favorite- it’s kind of required because of my name!)

As for the “teacher credentials”, I have a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology (and thus a great love for world cultures) and a Master of Arts in Teaching. I am currently a certified educator for ages 3 through 3rd grade. I taught 2nd and 3rd grade for 9 years before becoming a stay at home mom of two sweet boys. It was a big transition from the busyness of the classroom to being at home aaaaall day (HOW can one baby be more exhausting than a room full of 9 year olds? I’ll never know…), but I adjusted and put my degree to work organizing activities and outings to enrich my children while they are young.

Enter Covid-19 and quarantine. Seeking to help my friends entertain (I MEAN teach…teach!) their children while on lockdown, I began to post what I was doing with my own children on Facebook each day. I had quite a few friends mention I should do a blog or a YouTube channel to share my ideas, and so- here I am! I really hope you enjoy my lesson plans and that they help you thrive as a parent or teacher of young children. Your job is so important because you, my friend, are shaping the future!
